I’m so thankful it’s starting to feel like spring here in chilly Wisconsin. Here’s to hoping there isn’t another bout of snow in our future! Our mantel was looking a little dark and dreary since I hadn’t updated it after I took down Christmas decorations. We were well overdue for a spring mantel update!
I love how switching out only a few things gave the mantel a fresh new look.
We were browsing at Target a few weeks ago and came across these vases. They match the other colors in our living room so well and I felt like the white would brighten up the mantel because most of the other items we have are fairly dark.
Faux Marble and Wood Candles
After I put our new vases on the mantle, they looked out of place. I knew they needed another white item to make them feel like they belong. I had bought this marble contact paper for a different project, but thought that this would be another excellent use for this awesome paper. I’m going to post how I made these candles later this week. I absolutely love how these turned out!
We originally got these cute little cloches as decorations for our wedding (along with all the flowers I’ve used to decorate our house). I love that these have a story that makes me smile every time I see them. To dress them up for spring, I filled them with some colorful eggs I got at and after-Easter sale a few years ago.
DIY Geometric Star
Can you believe I made this bad boy out of coffee stirrers? I can’t stop making these – I’m hiding them all over the house! Next week I’ll put up my tutorial on how to make these awesome little geometric stars.
To dress up the mason jar I keep these flowers in, I filled it with some of those after-Easter sale eggs. One of the colors didn’t work with our color scheme, so I glued twine around them to help them better match the rest of the decor.
This adorable little candle came from my winter FabFitFun box. Does anyone else love getting these awesome little gifts in the mail?
It always amazes me how changing up the mantel can make the entire room feel different. I love it when a simple tweak can freshen up the whole space!
